The color of red peonies. Strikingly flamboyant aromas of black cherry, strawberry jam and stone fruits.
Layers of Asian spices and flowers, with perfect balance and very long and sultry
pull-
100% hillside pinot noir, clones 115, 459, 667, 777. Unfined, unfiltered. This is classic, somewhat
heavyweight RRV pinot with “more bass in the monitors.” Enjoy in September but if you want the
full, layered effect, wait until November. For fans of the ‘09 Sonoma Coast: just put on your bib and
get cooking beyond the lighter style. Think sweet BBQ sauces, hearty vegetables and blackberry pie.

From Sebastopol and the Sonoma Valley, this lovely wine refuses to show all of its cards at first pass. Aged for just a couple of days in French oak, then in stainless steel, there’s a balance of crisp Sonoma County sunshine lain over a base of lemon, pear and honey. Garlic chicken dishes call for this beautiful wine, and it need not be consumed in one evening. There’s a lot more to this delectable chardonnay that can be discovered after many hours of aeration. It’s polite, pure and harmonious. Not steely, not a butterball and definitely not insipid. Again, farmed by smart stewards of the land. 125 cases.
2009 Rosé of Merlot -
A weighty, creamy and most unique version of a serious wine. Blueberries, pie crust and gardenias dance on the palate, in a BBQ context, as a cool sipper for a hot summer day, or as a Valentine’s Day treat. The color of this wine is just BEAUTIFUL and the finish is remarkable, sprinkling bits of white pepper and cherries along the way. 47 cases.
2007 “Convex” -
No dents here, just a wine that curves outward to embrace the senses. Bennett Valley and Russian River Valley fruit offer leather, berries, sandalwood, bubblegum, roasted meat... This is 80% syrah blended with 20% grenache that pulls no punches. Cote Rotie comes to mind when searching for a stylistic description. 35 cases.
2008 Cabernet Sauvignon -
Washington is all about finesse, ageability, purity and, in this case, approachability.

Vigorous, rigorous. This is no shrinking violet. Clones 15 & 337 from the Bugay Vineyard
lend brooding black fruit tones of black cherry, plum and earth. The acidity calls
for muscular foods, and the wine pulls through for miles. A Left Bank Bordeaux
lover’s dream, but at the same, piles of crowd appeal for seekers of up-

90 points from Greg Walter, The Pinot Report
This is the hockey player in a top hat. Bracing black cherry, earthy cola spices
and fabulous acidity make this a delightful addition to the dinner table. The flavors
and textures skate across the palate in notably distinct episodes. The wine develops
for many minutes in the glass and the resulting notion is one of cherry pie with
a dash of cinnamon-

90 points from the Tasting Panel, “Most Likely to Succeed, Class of 2010”
This is a nearly miraculous find. From one of Napa Valley’s finest vineyards, organically
grown, and a source for vintners on the California Top 10 list. Exciting aromas of
eucalyptus, fudge and dried cherries open the floodgates to a sensuously textured,
richly layered home run. 21 months on new Francois Freres barrels impart lush caramel
notes, and the tenacious finish makes this a memorable piece of math that isn’t intellectually

Pure, harmonious, sincere zin. A classic exhibiting great fruit, some curvaceous texture and structure. Not the overextracted or inky type; reminiscent of raspberry/allspice/sandalwood, the way you find it as a grape right from the vine. This biodynamically grown, organically produced wine is destined for finicky fans. 30 cases
